- Billing Info: last‑4 card digits or masked bank tokens via our processors; we do not store full card/bank numbers on Academy systems.

- Website/Portal: device/browser data, usage logs, cookies/analytics (see 4.7).
How We Use Information
- Provide instruction, scheduling, billing, and support.
- Send essential service messages and (with opt‑in) marketing communications.
- Maintain safety, security, analytics, and service improvements.
Sharing
- Service Providers/Processors (e.g., website host, lesson management, payment processors such as Stripe/processor used, email/SMS platforms) under contract to process data on our behalf.
- Required by law (e.g., legal process, safety). We do not sell or rent personal information for marketing.
Data Security (Summary)
- We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards reasonably designed to protect personal information. Where applicable.
- We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement reasonable measures to protect it from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties
- Sensitive payment data is handled by PCI‑compliant processors; we do not store full card numbers.
Breach Notification
- If we experience a data security incident involving personal information as defined by Massachusetts law and it poses a substantial risk of identity theft or fraud, we will provide notices to affected individuals and state authorities as required.

- Opt out of non‑essential marketing emails/texts at any time; essential service communications may continue.
- Request access to or deletion of basic account data, subject to legal retention obligations.

Children’s Privacy
- For students under 13, we collect the parent/guardian’s contact details and consent to communicate and manage the account. We do not knowingly collect payment data directly from minors.

- We retain records for the period necessary to provide services and meet legal/operational requirements, then securely delete or anonymize.

- By providing your contact information, you consent to receive communications from us as described in this policy. You have the option to opt-out of promotional communications at any time by contacting us directly.

- We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any significant changes through our usual communication channels.
Absence & Make Up Policies

Student Absences (Private Lessons)
- If a student misses a scheduled private lesson for any reason, tuition is not adjusted and the lesson is not rescheduled one‑to‑one.
- The Academy issues one (1) Lesson Credit for each missed private lesson.
Lesson Credits
- Use: Redeem online to book a Saturday Group Make‑Up Class.
- Expiration: Valid 12 months from the date of issue.
- Transferability/Cash: Non‑transferable; not redeemable for cash or tuition.
- Capacity: First‑come, subject to capacity; multiple instrument levels may be combined.
Saturday Group Make‑Up Classes
- Offered every Saturday (published schedule). Sessions may include ensemble skills, supervised practice, theory/ear training, or performance labs.
- Families self‑book using Lesson Credits in the portal.
Teacher Absences / School Cancellations
- We will provide a substitute where possible, reschedule, or issue a Lesson Credit.
Inclement Weather & Holidays
- Closures follow posted announcements; tuition remains fixed. When feasible, we offer virtual alternatives or Lesson Credits to maintain continuity.
Transition Note
- The prior “24‑hour advance‑notice credit” policy is retired for lessons on/after January 1, 2026.

Parties & Contact
These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern enrollment at Horus Academy (the “Academy,” “we,” “us,” “our”). The enrolling party is the Student or the Parent/Guardian if the student is under 18 (“you,” “your”).

Definitions
- Private Lesson: One‑to‑one instruction scheduled weekly at a set day/time.
- Group Make‑Up Class: Saturday group session booked using Lesson Credits for missed private lessons.
- Lesson Credit: A non‑cash credit issued upon a missed private lesson, valid 12 months from issue, redeemable to book a Group Make‑Up Class.
- Negative Option/Auto‑Renewal: Monthly recurring billing that continues until you cancel.
Enrollment & Scheduling
- Enrollment is open to students of all ages/levels subject to instructor availability.
- Schedules are set at registration; the Academy may adjust instructors or times to ensure continuity.
- Teacher absences/school cancellations: We will provide a substitute where possible, reschedule, or issue a Lesson Credit.
Attendance Overview (summary; see attendance and make-up policy for details)
- Student absences do not reduce tuition.
- One Lesson Credit is issued per missed private lesson for use in a Saturday Group Make‑Up Class.

- Fixed monthly tuition (auto‑renew): 30‑min weekly $200 · 45‑min weekly $260 · 60‑min weekly $320.
- Tuition is fixed regardless of 3, 4‑ or 5‑week months, holidays, or student absences.
Automatic Renewal, Disclosures & Cancellation
- Clear Total Price: Tuition shown on our website and checkout reflects the total price for weekly lessons each month; we do not add hidden or mandatory “junk fees.” Any add‑ons (books, events, etc.) are clearly labeled.
- Recurring Billing: Tuition is charged by autopay on the 1st of each month to the payment method on file and continues until you cancel.
- Pre‑Charge Notice: We provide written notice in advance of renewal (email and/or text) with the upcoming charge amount and easy cancellation instructions.
- You can cancel online through this form or by emailing billing@horusacademy.com; phone cancellation is also available.
- Cancellation Deadline: To stop the next month’s charge, submit withdrawal by the 15th (Eastern Time) of the current month. Requests on/after the 15th take effect the following billing cycle.
- Confirmation: We will send a written confirmation of your cancellation request.
Conduct, Safety & Property
- Be respectful to instructors, staff, and peers; follow staff directions.
- Parents/guardians supervise minors in common areas before/after lessons.
- The Academy is not responsible for lost or damaged personal items.
- Report any medical or accessibility needs so we may provide reasonable accommodations.
Communications & Text Messaging (SMS)
- We use email, phone, and SMS for scheduling, billing, and school updates. Message/data rates may apply.
- Consent: By providing a mobile number, you consent to receiving texts (including automated) for service updates; marketing texts require separate opt‑in. Reply STOP to opt out of non‑essential texts; HELP for help. Essential service communications may continue.
Electronic Signatures & Records
- You consent to transact electronically; typed names, clicks, and e‑signatures are valid signatures.
- We may provide documents/notices electronically unless you request paper copies.
Policy Changes
- We may update policies; we will post effective dates and highlight material changes.
Non‑Discrimination
- We do not discriminate based on any protected characteristic under applicable federal or Massachusetts law. We strive to provide reasonable accommodations.
Governing Law & Venue
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Venue for disputes is in Massachusetts courts; small‑claims court is permitted.
Use of Media Disclaimer

Consent (via Registration Checkbox)
- During online registration (and any paper enrollment), families are presented with a dedicated Media Consent checkbox. Selecting this checkbox provides written consent for Horus Academy to capture, use, reproduce, and publish photos, audio, and video of the student for educational and promotional purposes (e.g., website, social media, printed materials).
- The checkbox is not pre‑checked and not required for enrollment.
- If consent is not granted (box left unchecked), we will flag the student account as Media Opt‑Out and make commercially reasonable efforts to exclude the student from captured or published media content.
Limits
- We will not publish personal contact details without additional express permission.
- No monetary compensation is provided for use of media.
Opt‑Out
- To opt out, email info@horusacademy.com; we will honor opt‑outs on a going‑forward basis. Previously published materials may remain in archival or historical contexts.
Withdrawal Request Form

Tuition & Payment Policy

Fixed Monthly Tuition (Auto‑Renew)
- $200 per month — weekly 30‑minute private lessons.
- $260 per month — weekly 45‑minute private lessons.
- $320 per month — weekly 60‑minute private lessons.
- Tuition is fixed regardless of the number of lessons in a calendar month (3, 4 or 5 weeks), holidays, or student absences.
Billing Cycle & Methods
- Autopay on the 1st of each month to the payment method on file.
- You agree to maintain a valid payment method; failed payments must be resolved promptly.
- We do not store full payment card or bank account numbers on Academy systems.
Automatic Renewal Disclosures & Notices
- We disclose the total price and renewal terms clearly at sign‑up and in each billing communication.
- We send advance written notice before renewal charges with the amount and simple cancellation instructions.
- Cancellation is available through this FORM.
Withdrawal / Cancellation of Future Billing
- Submit the Withdrawal Request Form or email billing@horusacademy.com by the 15th (ET) to stop the next month’s charge.
- Requests on/after the 15th take effect the following cycle. We will confirm your effective end date.
Missed Lessons & Credits
- Student absences do not reduce tuition.
- A Lesson Credit is issued for each missed private lesson for use in Saturday Group Make‑Up Classes.
- Credits cannot be applied to tuition or exchanged for cash and expire after 12 months.
Refunds
- Tuition is generally non‑refundable once a billing month begins, except where required by law or if the Academy cancels the program without a comparable alternative.
