1) Where is Horus Academy located?

We have two main locations, in Roxbury, Boston, Massachusetts, at 222 Spring St and in Needham, at 220 Reservoir St # 7.

2) What instruments do you teach?

We teach a variety of instruments, ranging from guitar, piano, vocal training, and music theory. Refer to our instruments page for a complete list.

3) What is the cost for attending lessons?

Our tuition rates are:

  • 30-minute lessons: $200/month
  • 45-minute lessons: $260/month
  • 60-minute lessons: $320/month

4) Is there financial aid available?

Yes, financial aid is available for eligible students. You may apply here.

5) What is the student-to-teacher ratio?

We offer private one-on-one lessons, group band lessons with up to 6 members per band, and choir programs with up to 20 members per choir.

6) What is the absence and class cancellation policy?

If you miss a lesson, you may book a group make-up lesson on a Saturday. Make-up credits are valid for up to 12 months.

7) What is the policy for withdrawing from the academy?

You may withdraw from the academy and avoid future charges by submitting
a withdrawal form by the 15th of the month. You can find the form here.

8) What events does the school hold?

We hold two recital concerts each year: a Spring Recital in March and a Christmas Recital in November. We also host our Annual Gala every June.

9) Does Horus accept everyone who applies to a program?

Audition requirements depend on the program. Some programs, such as the Professional Conservatory, require auditions for admission into higher levels. Choirs and voice lessons also require auditions. The Open Enrollment Program does not require an audition, except for students enrolling with a voice principal.

10) Can I join the professional program at any age?

The Professional Conservatory Program is age-restricted. Students may apply for placement at a higher level; however, they must meet both the age and skill-level requirements.

11) What happens if my teacher leaves the school?

If a teacher is unable to continue lessons, the school will provide another qualified instructor to continue the student’s education.
