Horus Academy offers private guitar lessons for children, teens, and adults at our West Roxbury and Needham locations. Students can study acoustic or electric guitar with individualized instruction for beginner through advanced skill levels.
What guitar lessons does Horus offer?
We offer a wide variety of guitar lessons, ranging from acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and bass guitar. We have a diverse selection of teachers.
How qualified are teachers here?
Our guitar instructors have graduated from prestigious universities, with the majority of our staff being Berklee College of Music alumni.
Do I need to bring my own instrument?
We have instruments in our buildings. We also offer renting of instruments if you want to practice on your own time.
What are lessons like?
Guitar students develop technique through scales, learning the fretboard, and building a solid chord vocabulary. We teach both standard music notation and tablature, giving students the flexibility to read from either. Songs are assigned based on the student’s skill level, allowing for steady, achievable progress while keeping lessons engaging. Alongside technique, students study music theory, sight reading, and ear training to build well-rounded musicianship.
What skill level or age do I need to learn guitar?
Our lessons are perfect for all ages and skill levels. We will work with you in your first lesson to find the best plan of study for you.
Where are lessons located?
We have locations in 222 Spring Street, West Roxbury and 220 Reservoir Street, Needham Heights. If you live near these locations or the Greater Boston Area, we have the right lessons for you.
Are there any performance opportunities?
We hold galas in the summer and winter, and we have students perform for guests there. It is the perfect opportunity to showcase what you have learned!
